Charitable Giving from The Jim Allen Group
The Jim Allen Group has made a Commitment to Give to Those Less Fortunate!
In 2012, The Jim Allen Group realized the importance of giving back and established the Charitable Giving Project. Over the course of the year, individual charities where selected each quarter and we contributed to their cause based on our success. For every closed transaction with The Jim Allen Group, we made a financial donation.
2015 10th Annual Gobbler's Run 5k
For Q2 and Q3 we selected the Wake Forest Boys & Girls Club as the presenting level sponsor for their Gobbler's Run 5k held on Thanksgiving Day. What a great event to get our team, family and friends outside in the morning for some exercise and to raise some funds to support the Club's important mission. The money raised allows the Club to continue to offer programs and services that promote and enhance the development of local boys and girls.
With over 2,000 participants/runners, this popular Thanksgiving Day race is proving to be a local tradition that will continue to grow through the coming years. The race wouldn’t be as successful without incredible community support and we look forward to supporting again in 2016.
2015 Foodbank of Central and Eastern NC Fundraiser
For the 1st quarter of 2015 our charity is the Foodbank of Central and Eastern NC. We sponsored the 1st annual Radio Sports Open with 99.9 The Fan and Buzz Sports Radio. It took place on June 23rd at the River Ridge Golf Club and raised $8000 for the Food Bank and their Stop Summer Hunger Campaign! The mission of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina is: No One Goes Hungry in Central & Eastern North Carolina. For more information or to donate visit: www.foodbankcenc.org -- We are looking forward to participating again next year!
For 2014, we have decided to continue our charitable program and have selected The Wake Forest Boys and Girls Club as our worthy cause! We will look at opportunities to support them by providing contributions that will help purchase supplies, improve the facility, and sponsor children for summer camps and programs. The Jim Allen Group has become the Title Sponsor for their Rocktoberfest event which will take place in early October.
As part of our 2014 Charitable Giving Project, we sponsored and attended a wonderful event with Stop Hunger Now in Cary. The fundraising event featured a presentation by Dr. Jill Seaman on the crisis in South Sudan. She has worked for decades to bring modern medicine to the besieged and hard-pressed people of Africa. Stop Hunger Now is an international hunger relief non-profit organization that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food and other life-saving aid to people in developing nations. For 2013, the group decided to select The Boys and Girls Club of Wake Forest as their year-long beneficiary. For the first half of 2013, the total contribution to B&GC of Wake Forest was $7,500.00. Stefanie Bell, VP Business Development for The Jim Allen Group presented Jessica Bullock, Club Director of B&GC of Wake Forest with a check that will benefit the many programs available to local children and their families, as well as make improvements to the facility.
The Boys & Girls Club of Wake Forest provides a safe and enriching environment for local youth to learn, grow and to reach their full potential. B&GC offers after school programs, summer camps and opportunities for kids to participate in a wide variety of activities and sporting events. Open year-round so that parents can be assured that their children are safe in a positive atmosphere. In addition to the support this organization provides the community, the cost for services are a fraction of what other facilities charge and tuition assistance is available. Serving over 200 kids daily, this organization has been serving the Wake Forest community since 1986. Some of the great activities offered include street hockey, quilting, “Think Big” mentoring program, basketball academy and track.
HOW IT STARTED
In 2011, The Jim Allen Group experienced a GREAT year! Although the Raleigh real estate market had seen its fair share of lows, our team has been fortunate with record Triangle area real estate sales and growth. With the understanding that not everyone has been as fortunate and times are tough, The Jim Allen Group decided to make a year-long commitment to help make a difference to those less fortunate.
For every SOLD transaction in 2012 with The Jim Allen Group, we made a financial contribution that will help improve the lives of others. Making A Difference - One Home at a Time!
At the end or each month - we will post updates to our causes and provide details on the number of homes closed, and water systems purchased on The Jim Allen Group Blog!
Each quarter, we selected a different charity and contribute to that cause.
- The 1st Quarter of 2012 is Water of Life, through Compassions International - we purchased 67 water purification systems with a contribution of $3,685.00
- The 2nd Quarter of 2012 is Hospice of Wake County - we contributed $7,450.00
- The 3rd Quarter of 2012 we have chosen Stop Hunger Now! - we contributed $3,075.00

Making a Difference to Ourselves and Others!
The Jim Allen Group made a year-long commitment to making a difference to the lives of others through our 2012 Charitable Giving program. Each Quarter in 2012 we selected a charity that provides services or assistance to others and have made a financial or volunteer contribution based on every sale/purchase of a home. Our goal was to make a difference to those less fortunate. Our total financial contribution for 2012 was $15,460.00 with additional countless volunteer hours. We hope our success can help those less fortunate.
In the 1st Qtr. we chose, Water of Life and purchased 67 water purification systems through Compassions International. This water system provides up to 1-million gallons of safe drinking water to a child and their family in an impoverished country such as Guana, Guatemala, Haiti, India and Ruanda where children often die of water-related diseases due to unsafe drinking water. To know that these water purification systems can save the life of a child and provide years of safe drinking water is something we are so grateful for.
For the 2nd Qtr. we selected Hospice of Wake County which provides physical, emotional and spiritual care to those living with an advanced illness, their caregivers, and those who have lost a loved one. This local charity is located in Raleigh, N.C., and is the oldest, largest and most experienced hospice organization serving Wake, Durham, Johnston, Franklin, and Harnett counties.
Our 3rd Qtr. charity was Stop Hunger Now, located in Raleigh and is an International hunger relief organization that coordinates the distribution of food and other life-saving aid around the world. The organization’s vision is of a world without hunger and a mission to end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-saving aid to the world’s most vulnerable – the children. This organization has perfected the assembly process of making meals that combines rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring mix including 21 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packets. Each meal costs only 25 cents to produce. The food stores easily, has a shelf-life of five years and transports quickly. In addition to our financial contribution, many of our staff had the opportunity to participate in a meal packaging event and be a part of making these life-savings meals.
The last Qtr. Of 2012 we contributed financially to Meals on Wheels Raleigh that has been providing nutritious meals to the home-bound elderly and persons with disabilities in Wake County in an effort to improve health, reduce isolation, and prevent unnecessary institutionalization.
As we wrap up our year-long commitment of our 2012 Charitable Giving Program, all of us at The Jim Allen Group are appreciative of all that we have, the success we have accomplished, and blessed to have been part of making a difference. Making a difference doesn’t have to be a financial contribution, it can be the offering of your time and we encourage more people to consider volunteering for a local charity. We look forward to 2013 and are looking at ways we can continue to make a difference.
