6 Organizational Hacks to Keep Clutter Under Control

As we spend more time at home due to the rise of remote work and virtual school options, it is easy to allow clutter to take over our homes. However, an organized home is more inviting, offers a tranquil environment in which to relax, and helps reduce stress. Here are some simple hacks to make your home more organized with a little bit of effort.

Use Stylish Storage

Storage bins have been a staple in the art of organizing the home for several years. Yet there are now a wide variety of stylish and functional options that both hold everyday items and add to the overall decor of the room. Choose containers that are as pretty as they are practical to make the most of your storage spaces.

Install a Space-Saving Desk

If you need office space but cannot devote an entire room to doing so, or if you need multiple desk spaces for various family members, adding a flip-down desk to any corner is a slick way to accomplish that. This space can be flipped up when done, and you can store materials, laptops, papers, and more in the flip-down unit to hide everything when not in use.

Hang Pots and Pans

It is no secret that pots and pans take up a ton of cabinet space, can easily become disorganized, and are a pain to deal with daily. A simple way to organize them is to use command hooks to hang pots and pans on an empty wall. Start with the largest items first and continuously work your way down in size for visual interest.

Create a “Drop Zone”

One of the easiest ways to clutter a home is to set things down when you walk in the door. In order to contain that clutter, pick a spot near the entranceway where random items can be placed to avoid letting the clutter spread throughout the home. Use an attractive container to hold these items to minimize their impact on the rest of the home.

Create a Laundry Sorting Station

A lot of us do not like the chore of putting away laundry. However, the process of sorting and folding can be made much simpler by creating a sorting station, with a laundry basket for each member of the household. Trying to get the kids more involved in chores? Place their clean laundry into their bin and have them fold their own clothes and put them away.

Use Shower Hooks to Organize Closets

Shower hooks can be very versatile when organizing a closet. Use them to hang tank tops, belts, necklaces, baseball hats, or scarves to decrease the clutter in your drawers while keeping everything in an easy-to-find place. Also, consider using a shower hook to hold hair ties to avoid losing them constantly. You can also use hooks to hang cleaning supplies and organize spray bottles.

Organizing can seem like a daunting task for many, but using a few simple tricks can make the process a little less overwhelming and easier to maintain in the long run. An organized home will not only give you peace of mind but will also save you time and make guests feel more welcome in your home.
