Community Spotlight: North Ridge

North Ridge is an established neighborhood located in the heart of North Raleigh. The community was initially constructed in 1976, and continually developed through the 2000s. Many of the homes here were built before the Triangle experienced the explosion of growth that we have been experiencing in recent years. The cornerstone of the community is North Ridge Country Club, a private golf club with 2 18-hole golf courses. It is one of the more prestigious golf clubs in the area, and the amenities offered are extensive, such as a fitness center, swimming pool, tennis courts, and dining.

There is a wide variety in the types of housing in North Ridge, which includes everything from townhomes to expansive home sites, in a variety of price ranges with a plethora of home design choices. Recently, split levels have become attractive to millennial buyers who favor a vintage look over a new construction, and the homes in North Ridge are priced more reasonably than similar neighborhoods inside the Beltline. Furthermore, many of the homes in this neighborhood have either been completely renovated or torn down to make room for new construction by local custom home builders.

As the Triangle continues to grow, young families are moving into the area and looking for safe neighborhoods that are convenient to Research Triangle Park (RTP), shopping, and high-quality schools. Beautifully landscaped with plenty of trees, this neighborhood is perfect for someone who loves to take a stroll, walk the dog, or go for a run in a tranquil place that is still close to everything. One commodity that is in very hot demand in the Raleigh-Durham residential real estate market is land, and many of the homes in the North Ridge subdivision have plenty of land, which makes both the homes and the land it sits on highly valuable.

While North Ridge is located right off of Falls of Neuse Road, it still feels tucked away and quaint. This location is perfect for the family that likes to be close to downtown and major expressways (such as I-540 and I-440) but also enjoys escaping the hustle and bustle of city life. Many mature homeowners have started to put their homes on the market specifically in this neighborhood after learning that they could sell quickly and for top dollar. Residents are not only close to great public schools, but there are many private and charter school options nearby. North Ridge is approximately 14 miles from RTP, 10 miles from the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and 11 miles from downtown Raleigh. Additionally, the area is minutes from shopping, banks, salons, and restaurants in North Raleigh and minutes from the evolving and expanding North Hills area.
